Before the timeframe scares you... No, this drawing didn't take nearly a month to make. During that interval, some personal commitments came up that interrupted the drawing. Even so... it took way longer than it should have.
This was one of several cases where, looking at the reference at first glance, it seemed easy. But the challenges only came after starting.
The first challenge was Oliver's snout, specifically its width relative to Lyssa's face. In the reference it looked simple, but the proportion was quite misleading. I redid the snout three times. And yes, the idea was to represent a fox (reduced snout) and not a wolf (wide snout).
Then Oliver's skull. Between the fur, the hair, and the shape of the head, I looked at the sketch and had the impression something was wrong. In my head, I had drawn a big head.
When I thought it was solved, another problem appeared: the two heads were too far apart from each other. And I only noticed that when I was at the finishing stage.
Finally, Lyssa's face also needed adjustments. Initially it was too wide, so I repositioned the eyes, nose, and mouth until I reached a more delicate and cuter appearance.
It was a cat-and-mouse chase that seemed endless, overall. But I was happy with the result anyway.

Oh, yeah... It was in this class that the teacher's question evolved from:
"Are you a furry?"
to:
"Alright... but do you have a fursona?"
